近日，一则女儿接在外打工的妈妈回家过年的短视频火上了热搜。

 

A short video capturing the heartfelt reunion of a daughter and her mother, who works away from home, has gone viral on social media recently.

发布该视频的是一名大四的学生李秋霜。几天前，她为了接在福建泉州晋江务工的妈妈一起回家过年，悄悄地从重庆丰都赶赴晋江，跨越了1600多公里，献上了一份温暖的惊喜。

 

The video was shared by Li Qiushuang, a senior college student, who, a few days ago, traveled from Fengdu county, Chongqing municipality to Jinjiang, Fujian province to bring her working mother home for the Chinese New Year. Li covered a distance of over 1600 kilometers to deliver a warm and unexpected surprise.

 

20多年前，秋霜的父母到福建务工。每年春节前夕，他们都会一同返回重庆。但由于今年奶奶生病，爸爸提前回家照顾老人，而妈妈则独自在晋江的一家鞋厂工作。

 

Li's parents had migrated to Fujian for work over 20 years ago. Normally, they would return to Chongqing together just before the Spring Festival. However, due to Li's grandmother falling ill this year, her father returned home early to take care of the elderly, leaving her mother to work alone at a shoe factory in Jinjiang.

 

前几天的视频通话中，妈妈告诉秋霜，今年她不回家过年了。一方面，妈妈想在外地多赚一些钱；另一方面，由于妈妈文化程度不高，交通出行也有些不便。想到妈妈独自在异乡度过春节，她挂断电话后立刻买了机票，决定到晋江接妈妈回家过年。

 

In a recent video call, Li's mother informed her daughter that she wouldn't be able to come home for the New Year this time. One reason was her desire to earn more money working away, and the other was the inconvenience caused by her limited education level for traveling back home. Concerned about her mother spending the New Year alone in a distant place, Li immediately booked a flight and decided to personally pick up her mother.

“有人问我，为什么一定要亲自去接，不能直接帮妈妈买票让她自己回家过年？” 秋霜说，因为妈妈在外地打工很少出门，这20多年基本上都在务工的村里转悠。她不懂如何打车，也不会乘坐公交车或者使用导航。“与其让她茫然地四处求助，作为一个女儿，我觉得我应该亲自去接她回来。我怎么能让她一个人在外地度过一个孤独的春节呢？”

 

When asked why she didn't simply buy a ticket for her mother and let her travel on her own, Li explained that her mother was not accustomed to traveling alone. Having spent the last two decades mostly within the village where she worked, Li's mother wasn't familiar with taking taxis, buses, or using navigation. Li felt it was her duty as a daughter to personally escort her mother back home and not leave her to navigate unfamiliar territory.

 

秋霜做出这个决定后一直瞒着妈妈，希望给她一个惊喜。一路上，她抑制不住内心的紧张与激动。“当飞机起飞的那一刻，我仿佛明白了长大的意义。虽然我暂时还无法给父母更好的生活，但当妈妈需要我的时候，我能够立刻飞奔到她身边。” 秋霜说。

 

Li kept her decision a secret from her mother, hoping to give her a pleasant surprise. Throughout the journey, Li couldn't contain her excitement and nervousness. "When the plane took off, I felt like I understood the true meaning of growing up. Although I can't currently provide a better life for my parents, when my mother needs me, I can immediately rush to her side," Li said.

 

20日晚上，秋霜下了飞机，直接赶到了妈妈的住所。在门口静静地看着妈妈进进出出地做饭，于是秋霜便在门外打了视频电话。发现妈妈又为了省事在吃面条，挂了电话，秋霜紧张地去敲了房门。

 

On the evening of Jan 20, Li arrived and went directly to her mother's residence. Watching her mother cooking from outside, Li made a video call. Seeing her mother eating noodles for the sake of simplicity, Li nervously knocked on the door.

当敲门声响起，妈妈看到突然出现的女儿，先是短暂地错愕，然后充满惊喜地笑了起来，接着情不自禁地泪流满面。这则视频让许多网友备受感动。

 

When her mother saw her daughter suddenly appear, she first looked surprised, then burst into a joyful smile, followed by tears of happiness streaming down her face.

 

有网友说：“今年一定要回家过年”、“回去看看爸爸妈妈”，还有网友在评论区自发地签订起了“《在外互帮互助彼此父母》协议”，约定如果出门在外，遇到有困难的人，能帮就帮一下。

 

This touching video has resonated with many netizens, inspiring comments such as "I must go home for the New Year this year," "Go back and see your parents". Netizens also initiate a spontaneous agreement which pledges to assist each others' parents facing difficulties while away from home, emphasizing the importance of mutual support in times of need.
